Hi everyone.
This is my 2nd week at MFP and want to up my exercise, but struggle with work, study and little ones to get to the gym daily. I have heard mixed reviews about Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and wondered what everyone thought? Should I buy it or not? Also how would i log my exercise once done the work outs?

Also has anyone tried Zumba for wii? Any good?

Is either suitable for someone with over 100lbs to lose?

Sarah x

did them all! i had 50 to lose at the begining, i started with zumba, although it made me blush, it was fun and made me sweat, good cardio. i then went to yoga meltdown JM and now i'm on level 2 of the shred its hard, but a total workout. i find if you start with something difficult and are unable to do it you sometimes get discouraged. all in all any workout is better than none. start somewhere and work your way up! good luck

I love zumba for wii. I use it when I can't make it to my regular zumba class and it is a great workout.

I reckon you should start with JM 30 day shred to give you a good start! Don't try too much in one go. I'm in love with JM at the moment - she gets you great results - good luck! x

I have both. I do Zumba on wii when it is raining out or I just don't feel like going outside to exercise. I just finished day 5 of 30 day shred and its a great work out. I had to try it. People have gotten great results and it is cheap. Good Luck!

I did a week of 30ds, my knees didnt quite like it though and I could barely walk so have stopped for now, hoping to do it again when I have lost a few more lbs.
I dont have Zumba on the wii but I have the dvds and I love them. I was stuck for 4 weeks without losing so much as 0.1lb lol, started Zumba last Friday, had my weigh in today and have lost 1.8lbs :D

I have just ordered JM from amazon. Just under £6 - Bargain!!

been searching net and have found some negative reviews for wii zumba saying it is not accurate. Anyways I found some actual Zumba dvds and toning sticks but they are over £60. Anyone got these?

I really like the look of them.

I am on Level 2, day 4 of the JM Shred and it is a great workout. Level 1 was sore the first 4 to 5 days but kept at it and Level 2 and have no soreness, but it is hard!!! I hate planks. I also have Zumba for the wii and I like it too. Ordered the regular zumba dvd's and toning sticks but haven't really used them yet (although I did try it and liked what I saw) as I started the Shred and wanted to complete a full 30 days. Tomorrow I will be halfway there!!!!! As far as logging any of these, I use a HRM and added to my exercise. I add everything I do just to make it easier for me.

Can you reccommend a good HRM?? I havent got one at all yet. And do you wear it just whilst excersising or all the time?

You can get the Zumba set cheaper than £60 - try Amazon. Haven't tried the Zumba DVD's myself though.
I did the 30 DS - 7 or 8 days on each level before I oved up - then I stopped as it completely wrecked my knees. but I've been having knee problems for years on and off. It is a great full body workout though and easy to fit in.

I don't like 30 day shred, I prefer her Ripped in 30 workout better.

I love the Zumba for the Wii since I can't make it to a real class anymore. It works you just as hard

The Polar FT4 HRM is GREAT! Counts calories, tells you when your HR is in the zone and so much more!

I agree. The Polar FT4 is a great HRM. I tried the cheaper watch only and it was not accurate at all (way overestimated). I wear mine only while actually exercising and I love it!!!

I bought 30DS from a shop on Ebay and it was only £5/6 inc. postage brand new! I've done 7 days of level 1 now. The first 2 or 3 may give you aches/pains in places you didn't know you had but push on through and it gets better. I felt much stronger after that. It is a great workout & definitely gets a sweat! I log it as Circuit Training General - seems to be the recommended thing on here. I've lost inches already!!
