Hi! I was wondering how people logged homemade marinades and gravies for their journals. For example my Barbecue sauce uses bulls eye sauce, olive oil and a can of cola, I bake the chicken in the mixture to keep it moist, then take it out and serve it with just another brushing of the bulls eye. When I log my journal should I put all the ingredients separately, and put in the full amounts even though I'm only eating a portion of the final sauce (one can of coke or .25 can of coke)?
I would just create a whole new food but when I'm adding the different ingredients together I can't figure out how to add up the percentages for the Vitamins and Iron.
I don't know how to get a more accurate reading. There are really only two things I eat that have this problem, one of which I suppose I can change (BBQ chicken) but the other can't be changed and remain the same.
Suggestions?

I just add to the overall total for sodium and calories. I try to dispose of the liquids before I cook the meat to keep the calories down.0

My husband and I enter the full amount in the recipe section. after cooking, marinating, we measure out how much of the liquid is left and then enter that fraction into our journals.
Hope this helps and good luck.

You could use the recipe feature to input all the ingredients and servings per batch to get the nutritional value of a serving.
