First day at Boot Camp at the gym...it was tough. There were stations set up. First we walked 2 laps around the gym. Then we went to stations...station 1 was jumping up on a box 10 times. Station 2: lifting a 25#bar out and up 10 times. Station 3: Laying down with your feet out - making a smiley face with your legs. Station 4: Squating down - throwing legs back and bringing them back to a squat and jumping up. Station 5: Run from corner of the building to the stop sign (a block) and back - did this 3x's. I did all of these stations three times!!! Then we did some ab workouts on matts for 5 minutes. It was very hard to keep up with the group but I did my best and feel good about that. I did not eat before I worked out and had about 16oz of water during the workout. Immediately after I had to go to work and I had one cup of cereal and 1/2 cup fat free milk.

(I just copied this from my daily notes) I really was trying to figure out how to enter this into the exercise tab and how in the world do you measure this in terms of calories lost??? Please help!

When I do the 45 or so minutes of Cardio X from the P90X series... I log it as aerobics general... It compares fairly relatively to my treadmill workouts where I actually get a reading from the machine.. I will continue to log it as this until I get a heart rate monitor to gauge the actual numbers lost!
  • Thanks for that advice!

I know having a heart rate monitor helped me make more accurate entries vs using the machines or guessing. I tend to be nerdy that way with wanting things precise so I didn't over or under eat later on!

Maybe it's a great birthday or upcoming holiday gift espeially for the long haul of fitness.
  • What kind of heart monitor do you recommend? Can you get it at Wal-Mart?

Heart rate monitor, or look up "circuit training, general" in the exercise log. Sounds like it would give you a pretty accurate number. I do something similar twice a week, and it's pretty close to what my HRM tells me.
