I would love to find some friends that are also a part of this incredible journey. I see it as a sisterhood and could use some support from women that are also training for the walk!:flowerforyou:

I just had to say hi and it is a sisterhood. I have walked it twice and will again but not this summer ( two weddings and 2 graduations plus parents 50th anniversary to plan for). Have you done it before? Enjoy every step. There is nothing like the feeling you get at the end of day 3 in the whole world.0

This will be my first time. I have always wanted to do it, but never thought I could reach the fundraiser goal. This year I decided to go for it and I am halfway there! I haven't even started asking for donations yet. The walk here in Dallas isn't until November, so I'm sure I can make it by then. I think I will do this every other year or so. It definitely won't be the last time0

Hi ladies! I just searched for 3 day walkers and it lead me to this post. This year will be my 4th walk. We are walking in Arizona. I've walked in the Chicago, Denver, and Dallas. I love the atmosphere and the sister/brotherhood of the walk.
Tracy-How is training/fundraising for Dallas going?
I just finished 13 miles for the day. 8 this a.m. and 5 for the p.m. (that's longer than any of my training walk last year. But I hurt worse last year too.)0 -
Staci-What city have you walked in? We live pretty far from any of them so we travel. I'm always interested in what the different cities are like.0

I walked in Seattle both times. The first time 2008 was for my 40th birthday and it was HOT. I was red carded on day 2 and had to take the bus back to camp due to a giant blister. But they took care of it and I was able to walk all of day 3. Last year I walked because when I did it the first time my then 14 yr old daughter wanted to do it too but you have to be 16 and I promised her I would do it again with her. I have already signed up to walk next year. I am excited to finally be able to do it at a "normal" weight. I was way over 200lb both of the other times. On my non walking years I crewed in Washington DC in 09' and San Diego this year.
Good luck and have fun.0
