Warrior Dash w/HRM

So, I'm thinking about doing the Warrior Dash in July. Anyone out there done one before? If I do it, I'd like to wear my HRM, but I don't want to ruin it. I know it's water proof, but there are mud pits etc and I'm wondering if that will mess it up. Also, climbing over barracades, will that bang up the transmitter on the chest strap? I think I'm mostly concerned about the mud gunking it up. Just wondering how careful I would need to be so I don't break my precious HRM. Just how sturdy are they...

I am planning on doing this in Sept when it comes to Ohio again. I am very excited about it, but I don't think I am going to wear my HRM just in case. I use that thing almost everyday and will be sad if I break it in a mud pit lol.0

I'm doing one in July and from the looks of it i would NOT want to be wearing a HRM. it will be destroyed. In fact, i don't even want to wear my "good" running shoes as they will be garbage after. it looks like a load of fun though--you should do it!!0

My sister in law and brother in law did one last year. When you get out of the mud pit you are covered in mud. there is a fire pit to jump over. If it is an expensive HRM I would not wear it.
Good luck!!0 -
i wouldnt advise wearing a nice one with a chest strap but they have watch ones made by sportline. $30 at wal-mart or target. they are not as accurate as one with a chest strap but if it breaks youre out $30 instead of over $100 and you will have a fairly good idea of calories burned. (and a new fitness watch if it doesnt get destroyed) just a suggestion! i hope you enjoy it. my friend went a few months back here and LOVED IT but she was a hot mess when she finished! lol0

I'm concerned about shoes too... the website suggests to wear good running shoes since it's almost 4 miles, but I just got some nice new ones that I really don't want to ruin in mud, etc. Hmm... what to do, what to do.0
