For all of you that are doing Insanity, are you following the meal plan?

I am trying to get ideas with it, however, I don't have a working oven/stove, so some meals are hard for me to do, and sometimes money plans a big part when I go shopping....

any suggestions!?

I just really want the best results, so I think i'm going to try to follow it to a tee when i hit my 2nd month.....

thanks!

=D

I'm on my last week of Insanity and haven't used the guide at all. First, I'm a picky eater, so half the stuff in there looks disgusting to me. Second, the recommended calorie intake they give is way more than what I burn for Insanity. I know they say you can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour with it, but I burn anywhere between 275 and 500, depending on the workout of the day. I think there are some great suggestions in there, but I wouldn't stress over trying to follow it to a tee. I've seen great results without it. That being said, make sure to eat enough to fuel your body. Get plenty of carbs for energy, and drink a recovery shake after. I don't use Beachbody's, I buy mine at Walmart, so I'm not trying to push their stuff on you. However, your muscles need the extra protein to heal. I drink an 8 ounce shake after every workout. Good luck! Dig deep!

I've done Insanity, and I followd the Nutrition Guide.....I got excellent results -- check out the pictures on my profile. The thing is, you don't have to eat those exact meals that they show you....what you need to do is stick to their recommendations of 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat per day. I started out following the suggested meals exactly, then ventured out on my own, but still sticking to those percentages. That's the key.

I use the general outline of the nutrition program, if that makes sense. I use Michi's ladder a lot in making food choices. It's easier for me to follow the Elite Nutrition guide for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is difficult, as I have to cook for my whole family. I usually use a recipe from Cooking Light, Healthy Cooking, EatingWell.com, etc so the whole family eats a healthy dinner.

It would be difficult if you don't have a stove. Maybe you get a hot plate? I say, do the best you can with the resources available and use Michi's ladder to help. I finished my first round of P90X in March and my first round of Insanity 2 weeks ago and still got great results without following the nutrition programs to a tee. Best of luck to you!

I didn't, because i'm lactose intolerant, a vegetarian, and i hate eggs. I just guesstimated roughly what the nutritional information would look like if i inserted my own food choices into it, and they were nearly identical to what was listed. Just eat right, cut out junk, and drink LOTS of water.

Believe it or not, even though it's a cardio based program, i found that mine and my mom's results came much faster when we upped out protein intake.
