Hello friends,

My husband and I are going on a camping trip this weekend and I am worried about how will I keep up my healthy-balanced meals while camping. Any ideas?

I have a 1,200 calories budget and I try to eat a balance of 40% protein/ 30% carb/ 30% fat

Thank you!!!

You can still try and stay at your calorie goal but I wouldn't fret balancing everything during your camping trip.

You can take whole ears of corn, husk and all (well, peel the first couple layers off) and stick them in the coals around the fire.. Not actually IN it.. Check them occasionally, once the kernels are slightly blackened (roasted) you know it's done. They taste awesome and only run you about 120 calories per ear.

You can take fish and wrap it in foil with lemon and seasonings and let it steam in the coals. Or cut thin slices of chicken and season it and skewer them on sticks, roasting it over the fire for about 5 minutes (it'll cook, as long as it was thin).

You can take a small pot and have boiled eggs for breakfast.

You can even buy a can of baked beans.. Then can have as little as about 120 calories per serving, top the top and heat them up in the can.
