You cannot spot reduce. Cardio and strength training will help your overall fitness, which will in turn reduce the muffin top.

Sorry - You cant really target areas for reduction. Your body will dictate what parts it wants to thin down first.

The good news....you get to improve everything at once with better diet and exercise! Talk about your Win Win situations!

I hate to tell you this but if you have a muffin top it means the pants you are wearing are too small.

Muffin tops are not caused solely by fat around our waist. They are caused by fat around our waist in conjunction with wearing pants that are too small and not wearing them properly.

With the trend of "low-rise" jeans everybody seems to think that you are suppose to wear your pants below your gut. In actuality a normal cut pair of pants should be worn at the belly button. Maybe a little lower if you have a long midsection.

reverse crunches and leg raises, you need to do core exercises that workout your lower abdomen, normal crunches/ sit ups only work your upper half of your abdomen, also, the obvious cardio to burn the fat, coz it doesnt matter how toned your muscles are if they are buried under fat (havent looked at your profile, so not saying this is the case for you, just a general comment) good luck, my lower abdomen is the part of my body i struggle with the most too. its sooo hard to tame it :-( x

Everyone has that "spot" and yours are arms. You just have to get down to a lower bodyfat and sometimes it still doesn't go away. It's genetics!

Fat arms remaining, LOL, I have those too, but the muffin top is my main priority!!! xx
  • i still hold to that mesomorph/ectomorph/endomorph body type thing being true. Net-Net: 3 types of folks:

    a. all muscle person that seems to be lean & ripped and have no body fat and doesn't gain weight easy and when they do..maybe a couple of tiny love handles but everything else is MUSCLE LOL

    b. skinny arms and legs and big around the middle when they get older ...usually have great boobs & legs, a flat butt and gains weight in the middle. had a killer metabolism when young and could eat whatever they wanted..now they get a muffin top

    c. boobs or no boobs, awesome flat stomach and a great donk...have tendency to gain in arms & legs and /or gradually everywhere. gains weight easy

    I am C. WHY can't I be A?! Why can't WE ALL be A?!!!! :)))

Oh, it wasn't a criticism - merely an observation.

I disagree !! I do NOT wear pants that are too small for me...and infact I wear high rise pants that go over my stomache... this helps with hiding it but shouldn't be needed! and fyi my muffin tops are still there infact my "muffin tops" constantly cause my pants to fall down because my butt is smaller than my tummy/muffin top area... some people caue a muffin top but none of us should have it...and if we do we shouldnt be wearing low rise pants! i can definatley tell you though I am not wearing low rise pants and causing this, it is in fact very real ..but hey im working out so hopefully one day I will not have to deal with anymore!
