Younger people & Calories...

Hi everyone :)

I'm 16 years old and I only have to lose about 5-7 pounds. I set my weight loss goal as .5 lb loss per week and MFP set me at eating 1300 calories per day. However, i was wondering if I should be eating a little bit more because of my age. (i've heard that if you're younger, you should be eating more calories because your body isn't completely finished developing). is this true?

I'm wondering if I should raise my calorie intake or just leave it as it is. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

Just go by what you feel... especially with only five to seven pounds to lose. If you feel like you are starving, eat some more...if not no need to increase. But make sure at your age that you are eating back your exercise calories. :)

This site definitely under-estimates. They use a different formula than most nutritionists due. According to my textbook, I should be able to eat around 500 more calories than MFP says I should! So I customized it and am still losing weight quickly.
