    Yeah,
    stop eating cows and pigs
  • Along with healthy eating be sure that you get plenty of exercise. Exercise is about the only thing that will raise your HDL.

Switching to a diet where at least 70% of your calories come from vegetables will square that away pretty quick. I was just reading something about Spirulina (green algae supplement) having the potential to help promote healthy cholesterol and reduce the bad stuff. But don't buy into "quick fixes." From what I've read, it's either upping the veggies or dealing with the meds the rest of your life.

My cholesterol dropped 93 points eight months after starting to use MFP. What worked for me was healthier food choices (more fruits & vegetables, less red meat, etc), exercise and omega 3 supplements.

in Jan my cholesterol was high too and my doc started to talk about meds...i was like.."i'm only 33yrs old!!" no way in hell!!

i told him i would do it on my own. that is when i started my diet!!

i've lost about 63lbs since jan and when i went to the doc in April (i was 50lbs down on that day) my cholesterol has dropped over 50 points!!! good choloesterol is up and bad is down!!

so it is totally possible to do it with diet alone!! no more ground beef, more fish, lots of fruits and veggies for fiber and just watching portions!! and nothing with hydrogenated oils!! you really have to read the labels!! any kind of baked good usually has them, so they are out, too many cals anyway,

you can friend me so u can see my diary.

you can def do it!! good luck!!
