I dont go to a gym... walk. sit ups, use something heavy for arm exercises (laundry detergent works good), squats.......... give your house a GOOD heavy duty cleaning. I burned over 600 calories one day just CLEANING my house (I have a HRM). I scrubbed scrubbed scrubbed lol.
  • nothng like a good old walk.
for arms take a can of soup, canned vegggie etc from cabinet and do some arm workout!!!
  • There are TONS of exercise videos uploaded onto youtube. Thats how I do my Taebo and the Spark videos on there are pretty good too. So when your son is taking a nap just log on and do your exercises from your computer

Got a step? mine is only 6 inches high (hey I am in south florida I am lucky to have 1 step!)

Put on your favorite music. Grab 2 bags of rice, beans 1-2 lbs. ( i like these better than cans)

now step left foot up -right foot up -left down -right down. to keep balance i count a step with my feet together. as you get better at it you can build up your own cadence (ahh army speak, right/)
also can put left foot up and kick out the right. and then on other side. sounds boring, but if you do it to the beat of the music the time flies.

I burned 300 cals in 25 minutes and am about the same size as you. (altho 30 yrs older so not sure how this would factor in)

DANCE!!! I burned 350 cals in 30 minutes with faster moving music. I did squats when 'shorty got low' and Hey YA made me do the twist. I had so much fun it didnt feel like a workout.

Got TV...there are many work out shows on the air. I know you have to do it while babykins is quiet, but check it out,.

good luck, I know you will be fine! :flowerforyou:

You're not being paranoid. We all get into a routine and find it scary when it's taken away from us while we're experiencing success. I recently had to give up all exercise for two weeks following a double hernia repair so you know that I understand the situation.

Are you living on post? If so you can lay on your bed with your legs over the side and lift a bucket with rocks in it to get your leg workouts. Attach a towel to your leg and to the bucket. You can replace free weights with heavy books or a scrub bucket with rocks -- their not the easiest things to hang onto so becareful not to strain yourself trying.

Do the AFN still carry some of the Denise Austin exercise series? If so, record them for when your son takes a nap so that you can exericse at a time that's convenient for you both.

Carrying your son for weight walk up and down stairs with him on your hip switching hips on alternating trips up.
