Hey everyone,
I'm new-ish to the site (was a member a year or two ago but fell off the wagon and forgot about my account...).
I'm a big guy and trying to be...not so big.

I've been heavy from birth pretty much, and have basically maintained a height/width ratio that I wish to break.

Currently, for my height and weight, my target calorie intake is 3,060/day which is...a lot.
I have been keeping my calories down to about 1000 under that (2,000 - 2,400) and have succeeded in this more than not.
No idea if that is good or bad, but that's my current strategy. I will get closer to my calorie target as I lose weight, so I know I won't always be 1,000 under once the pounds start coming off.

I have been at this for 1 week yesterday, and so far so good. I'm still eatting what taste good and most would consider terrible, but I'm still coming out ahead as far as being under my target numbers. I'll change what I eat eventually, but I know that if I try to get rid of everything I normally eat all at once that this will not work out.

I'm looking to lose roughly....250lbs, so I'll be at this for a while.

I'm looking forward to meeting others and finding out what works for them and hopefully we'll motivate each other :D

Welcome and good luck, you are right to take it slow. You said you are eating under your goals but just don't forget about nutrition.
The body still needs healthy foods to stay healthy. I am not a believer in cutting out any one food group just making every calorie count. Best of luck on your new lifestyle. Slow and steady and you can make it forever. Just think where you will be in a year or two.
You didn't gain overnight so don't try to lose overnight.
