    What do they taste like? I haven't bought canned baked beans in a while because of the calorie & sodium in them, but my husband misses them. lol

    Kind of smoky and beefy tasting because of the spices and beef bouillon. The beer adds a unique taste that is hard to explain. I tried a can of beer once, in black beans, and liked it so much that I continued using it when I cook beans.

    I have really begun to cook raw beans and make sure to use them in many different recipes, during the week, because of the calories and sodium content in the canned beans.

    Smoky and beefy...I think that will satisfy his craving. lol I'll have to try this! Sounds like it would be a good side for a BBQ too.
