Losing weight too fast?

This might be a weird question, but I am worried that I might be losing weight too fast. I was hoping to lose about 1 pound per week. I just started about a week ago, and I have already lost 5 pounds. I'm just worried that maybe I'm not eating enough or that the weight is coming off too quickly and that it's going to come back! Is this just because it is my first week, or should I up the amount of calories that I am eating?
Thanks for any advice!

It all depends on what you were eating before, "time of the month", sodium....etc.
See, most people start out the gates pretty quickly because they go from deep fried and sodium laden to healthy, fresh foods. The water your bady was retaining has gone right out! Also, if you've finished "that time", you may have dropped a bit of water from that as well..
I wouldn't worry, but keep us updated. If it starts to seem like it's out of control, you may need to seek out a nutrionalist.

I lost 5 lbs my first week, then 2 lbs each week for many weeks, and then it slowed down to 1 lb per week. I think what you are experiencing is pretty typical.
Enjoy the loss and keep up the great work!
(Just don't drop your calories too low and risk going into "starvation mode").

I too lost 5lbs in my first week and have been pretty steady at 1 to 1.5 lbs a week since. I think it's just so new to your body and most of it is water weight. I would stick with it and see if it slows down before adding anymore calories.0

Thank you all for the great advice! I am eating 1350 calories per day, so (hopefully) no risk of going into that starvation mode!0

It sounds about right, I lost these 7 lbs my first week, now into my 2nd week and have been the same weight for a couple days. Seems normal!0
