Can C25K be done on the Elliptical?

I am interested in starting Couch to 5K to help with my weight loss. I just downloaded the app on my Android. I am 260 lbs and when I was at the gym running on the treadmill it sounded like a heard of elephants ran into the gym LOL. Can't do that anymore!!!

Will it be easier to do it on the elliptical? What speed should I do for "walking" and "running"?

Suggestions please!

Thanks in advance!

I do the elliptical all the time.....it's NOT the same as running, no matter how you adjust your speeds (I freaking DIE running).

You should try it outside, rather than on the treadmill. =) When I was doing it, that is how I did it. I'm too clumsy for the treadmill; I nearly killed myself on that thing.

LOL see that would be my problem! I am clumbsy also. I will try it outside. Thanks!

Starting running is always difficult but stay with it. Start slow and with short distances. Work your way up from there. The treadmills are there for you to beat into the ground so don't worry about how it sounds. That is part of the reason I always listen to my IPOD when I am running on the treadmill. Running outside also helps as you have other things to focus on instead of the sound of your feet. I personally hate the treadmill and did all my training for a half marathon outside.

HA! Glad I am not alone. ;)

I also loved the outside running (well, the outside part anyway, lol) because it was different scenery whenever I wanted. Just picked a different route whenever.

You'll be awesome! And keep us posted!

I also do the majority of my C25K sessions outside. The only time I use the treadmill is if I do not make it outside before it hits 100 degrees!
