I use a Polar ft4 each time I work out. For those of you that use an HRM when do you take your final calorie burn for exercise? Do you log it in from the moment you stop, or do you wait for your heart rate to return to normal? Just curious.

I have the polar ft4 too. I usually wait until I'm done stretching and then I wander around for a minute or two. I like the suggestion of waiting until my heart rate is under 100 though. I think I'll try that next time and see how long it takes.

I wait for my heart rate to drop to normal. Side note: Im wearing mine at work tonight. Just for fun! I have burned 700 calories in the last 3 hours. And this is a slow night.

I have the FT7...and I started waiting until mine was below 120...but I like 100 better...thats closer to the starting point.
  • I for some reason thought it would be cheating, so stop and start it after i get off each machine, and then end it once the finish on the last machine!

I stop mine when I am done exercising. I don't usually count my cool down stretching or anything. I like to be cautious with my calorie burns, and I don't want to claim too many.

I have a Polar FT40, just started using it today and stopped it a few minutes after I was done stretching. Mine noted that I was still in a fatburn while stretching so I left it running to see what I got as a total. I was just under a 100 so I think that's when I will stop and note the calories etc.
