Ohh yeas record them...0

I wouldn't. Those things are what I consider to be part of my daily activity of living...and they already account for those calories for you based on the activity level you entered upon starting.0

I vote no. By doing so you're just fooling yourself into thinking you can eat more...0

It is a choice you can make. I myself try to avoid counting the cals burned in the things I do daily ..those things done once a week like shopping I might count. The thing is not everyone burns the same amount doing the same activities. I burned more walking the store sixty lbs ago then I do now. So do what makes you feel better and keep on moving. I tried a thing the other day. I wore a hrm all day and lived a normal day. Not a work out or anything out of my ordinary. I was shocked. You might like to do that to get the general idea of where you are burning extra..say the shopping. I was advised next time to wear the monitor all night as well. Good Luck. :happy:0

I have my activity level set as sedentary. I think I am going to log them. However I am def not eating back the calories.0

Becky: I thought about wearing the hrm all day on a lazy day to see what a base is.

well, it's not like you go shopping like that everyday, right?
If you want to log it..LOG IT! I have...its up to you!
and you must have done some SHOPPING to burn that many...WHEW! I know you're tired now!0 -
I wouldn't. If you weren't shopping you'd be doing something else. I'm set at Sedentary too.0

I understand, aka i was told, that HRM are meant to measure cardio workouts and unless your heart rate was getting up into a cardio workout range, that it probably would be accurate. I wore mine playing softball one night and it registered a huge burn. I certainly had moments of a veey high heart rate, but most of the night was standing around. The burn it calculated was nowhere near what it felt like. I didn't eat those calories back.
I would say err on the side of caution and don't record the calories, but if you do, don't eat those back. Don't fool yourself into eating calories which you may not have really burned.
Now if you do some sort of cardio shopping where you are doing lunges down the aisle, then that's another story!! :-)0
