Hello all! So I have been doing this thing for a week now. I have tried just about everything in the past except for the one thing that actually makes sense... Lifestyle change! I am a firm believer that you can't just cut out a food group all together... I am referring to CARBS! Anyway... I am not getting any younger and I refuse to go into my 30's weighing over 200 pounds! I am sick and tired of carrying all of this weight! I just got married a few months ago and I want to be able to keep up with my husband. He is very active and I don't want to fall behind. I am thankful that even at my size I can still keep up (just don't make me run a marathon!) :) I am positive that by using to keep track of what I eat I will be able to obtain my weight loss goal and get down to about 155-165 pounds!

I am right there with ya! I've had this app since February and am JUST starting to take it seriously and value it. I'm dedicated to being healthier overall, hopefully we can help each other! I've found these message boards to be VERY helpful and motivational!

Right there with ya! Welcome to MFP and to the healthy realization that i too finally have reached, changing a lifestyle. I think that keeping some particular type of food out of your diet only makes you crave it more, and ultimately is a recipe for failure. We have to adapt to things that we will be able to continue long term, well after the weight is gone, or we will end up back in the same predicament. I've been here for 8 months and have been doing pretty well. I don't ever want to be heavy again. Feel free to add me if you need friends. I also recently posted my 8 month check-in blog that gives some information about what has been working for me. Good luck to you and with all your goals!
