My first forum post and progress status!!

Hello everyone!
This is my first time posting on the message boards! I joined MFP back in March and it has been amazing. It's really crazy that losing weight is as simple as watching what you eat and exercising. Of course we all knew that before starting this, but counting calories has been a HUGE learning experience and I know so much more about the content of the things that I eat. I don't always eat the best, but I'm very conscious and aware of what I am eating instead of being reckless and thoughtless about it as I was before.
So today I am 4 months and 3 days into my new lifestyle. Today I am down 58 pounds!!! My official weigh-ins are not until Monday, so I won't log my weight loss til then. Usually weekends don't affect my progress, so I'm hoping this weekend is no different. 95% of the time I am very strict with my food intake and exercise during the week and log everything. On the weekends I'm pretty lax about my logs. I still watch what and how much I eat, but the weekends aren't at strict. I actually prefer not to log on the weekends, because even if I'm under my maintenance calories, I feel bad about going over my 'regular calorie goal'. But at the same time, I know I can afford this with what I am doing, and the extra calories actually keep my body burning faster. So for me, I'd rather know that I'm within reason and my allowance without knowing my exact calories!
Here are my starting and current stats..
Start date: February 7, 2011
SW: 287
Shoulders: 50.5"
Chest: 46"
Waist: 42"
Hips: 50"
Thighs: 29"
Calves: 18"
Arms: 15"
Body fat: 42.1%
As of June 1, 2011:
Shoulders: 46"
Chest: 41.5"
Waist: 37"
Hips: 45.5"
Thighs: 26.5"
Calves: 17.25"
Arms: 13.5"
Body fat: 35.4%
Measurements are as of 6/1 and today's weight is 229!
I don't have many friends on here but love the site and the message boards and all the motivation. Feel free to add me as a friend!
Also, as a sidenote... I hate that when you have close to a full body pic as your main image that it crops to center the photo and cuts your head off. Is there any way to fix this? I don't see any edit photo options...

Congrats! Great work!0

Also, I should also note that I don't know how to create a signature or have my ticker show up in my signature. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing... lol0

Fantastic results!! You should be proud of yourself!0

I think... If you open your profile pic in MSpaint (if you have windows) then select resisze and scale the x and y (vert and horz) about 50% lower then save that as a new file name (save as) then load that pic to your profile then it may fix the head chop. Now if I could only figure out how to keep my head out of the profile shot, then I would be in business.0

hi michelle you have done amazing keep up the great work
To add a ticker to your posts first go to your profile then under your ticker click on 'add to your site' then you need to copy and paste the BBcode into your signature.
To access your signature click the community tab then the signature option just paste your code here for your ticker to show and you can also add goals etc

For your signature, go here:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker/
complete that, then select the get code option and copy/paste it here:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/signature
As for the profile pic, I'm not sure but maybe if you resize the picture to a smaller image it may not crop? It's worth a shot.0
