Hey guys, so I'm on Day 12 of the 30DS, and am wondering about my approach. My goal is to tone up, especially in the back, thighs, and abdomen area. I loosely claim to be an athlete, and decided after hearing about the workouts to start on Level 2. Level 2 was a good workout, but I didn't feel overly exerted, and after three days, I was getting bored and moved onto Level 3.

I have found that Level 3 is the hardest for me cardio/plyowise, Level 2 is the hardest strength wise, and Level 1 is kind of a break day. So, what I've been doing is a sequence of 1 day level 1, 2 days level 2, and 3 days level 3, so that I don't get bored. Does this seem like a good approach? What have other people done? BTW, I'm using 5 lb weights.

Yes, 3 days a week I bike to work, for 60 minutes at about 14 mph, and in the morning get 15 minutes of elliptical in. The other days I run 3-4 miles and do some elliptical as well. I'm mainly doing 30DS for the strength training....because I hate lifting weights and such normally.

I would do what ever works for you, however, I know the program is based off doing them in 10 day increments so maybe try doing the same one 3 days in a row atleast? or as many days as you can stand it!

I also claim to be an athelete, even though I havent been a true athlete in 6 years! I like to run first and then I will do the 30DS. Sometimes when I am feeling it, I will do 2 in a row, or do additional exercises afterwards.

You should try No More Trouble Zones or Chalean Extreme. NMTZ is more toning than 30DS, and is way more challenging. Chalean extreme focuses on lifting heavy weights and maxing out in a short amount of reps, but is more expensive (like $99 for the set of DVDs). NMTZ is just another Jillian DVD you can get for less than $10. I'm like you -- I bike, run, do cardio at the gym, but can never keep up a strength training routine. Doing these 2 programs in my living room has helped!
