What do you eat?

When you just don't feel like eating? I seem to only get hungry around dinner time. I'm not eating enough to get up to 1200 calories a day. I KNOW I need to eat more especially with working out. I just can't seem to get there. I know stress is partly to blame. Lots of icky things going on lately. I will pick up a yogurt or a salad, which I usually love. But lately it's like eh and I end up pushing it away.
So any tips on what to snack on or eat when I just don't feel hungry?
PLEASE don't lecture me on eating healthy. I know all of this. I'm not on a starvation diet or even think I can lose weight that way. I am honestly just not hungry and looking for advice.

I like hummus and pita chips or a classic pb&j on bagel thins...but it's hard to eat when you just don't feel hungry. Good luck in finding what works for you!

I am not a breakfast eater, so to get the needed protein and calories in the AM, I drink a slimfast. You could also try not having the fat free/light stuff, but things with a little more calories while you deal with the stress in your life. and of course there is also the old standby of a hand full of nuts :)

Maybe a handful of Almonds or any nuts for that matter, lots of calories and protein

my best resort are macadamia nuts. they're the highest in fat AND calories so i fill out both of those. then i just go for any other type of nuts or avocado. i could eat avocado by the spoonful quite frankly.

I went through something similar, not too long ago. Stress was reeking havoc on my appetite. I didn't eat much for a bit, but of course, that won't work for long. So when I did eat, I focused on protein....because that is what I need to function/feel okay. Yes, all the food groups are important, but if I couldn't eat/didn't feel like eating, I'd focus on protein. Usually just some meat or cheese. Occasionally a shake, like muscle milk or atkins.

When my stomach was more upset, I ate bread/crackers/rice/plain pasta. think bland.

Hope that helps some. Sorry you're dealing with such stress. It does suck. It also does pass. Hang in there.

Try peanut butter on a whole wheat bagel or toast, or full fat cheese and whole grain crackers...
  • I munch on blueberries or fruit.. when my stomachs already stressed its a light snack that I feel like at least keeps me eating and hydrated, or Ill drink a protien shake just to get the nutrients...

Eat one of your comfort foods. I eat a bowl of cereal or crackers and peanutbutter. You need to eat a food that comforts you even if its only in a small amount.
