Hi All! I'm fairly new to this site (2nd week here thanks to my mom.) I've been doing some of Billy Blanks' Workout DVDS & taking daily walks. I don't think it's the exercising part that I need to control as much as my calorie intake. Some days I can limit myself to how much I eat without really trying, but other days it seems like I can't eat enough & feel full. Does anybody have any ideas on fulfilling, yet healthy snacks. Also what does everyone do for exercises, I'd like to more than Billy, even though i do love his workouts! Thanks Everyone!

Hummos with carrots or other raw veggies
Fresh fruit
Non fat greek yogurt
Nuts
Only exercise I do is walk, or run. Oh, and there's a 100 pushups website, I'm working on that, but I really suck at pushups.0 -
I definitely have the same issue. And most of the time drinking water when you feel hungry doesn't always work. Some days I can limit what I eat and others I just totally go over.. frustrating.0

guppy girl- i suck at push ups too! Thanks for the advice! I love nuts & fruit & veggies..hummos not so much. Good thing it's almost time to go grocery shopping! It doesn't help that there's a whole bunch of junk in this house either >.<

Eating higher calorie healthy foods instead of a lower calorie snack (not adding more food, just changing what your eating). Today my morning snack was almonds and grapes. My afternoon snack was carrots & a banana. My night snack will be celery with peanut butter. (peanut butter, almonds/nuts, and banana r all high calorie options). I like having two snacks because i have one an hour after breakfast, and one an hour before lunch, so i dont eat them together.
For dinner Im having roasted potatoes because potatoes are higher calorie (rice is higher, but im eating the potatoe because of potassium), and thought of having chicken but needed more calories so i went with steak, and added in a steamed veggie.
So, peanut butter/nuts/banana/rice/potatoes/avacodo/beans/raisins/prunes all high calorie foods... start playing around with your diary and adding things in and once you get the hang of balancing your calories, its easy to do, just takes time to learn.
Feel free to look at my diary from yesterday and today to get ideas---im way low on sodium, healthy/clean eating, meeting all my calories.0 -
If your on a low carb diet, then certain things arent the best choices, i dont pay attention to carbs cuz ive never once been over, and theres been days ive eaten bread, potatoes, and pasta on the same day and havent gone over, so i just ignore carbs! Rice and Potatoes have carbs, but they are cheap and easy to make and a natural food that is healthy, so i eat them all i want and ive lost 37pounds in 3months, so they cant be all that bad! Potatoes are 45% vitamin c, and have over 700g of potassium--potassium helps ur muscles and your body function, and is needed if your going to be consuming any salt at all ((no way not too))--just stick to portion sizes--use a food scale to make sure your potatoe isnt 10oz compared to the serving size of 5.3oz. If you have problems with diabetes or anything like that though, potatoes can easily convert to sugar i guess, but if im over on sugar due to a fruit, vegetable, or natural item, i do not worry about it (im not over on sugar due to candy & icecream). Potatoes have no sugar/sodium (but if it converts to sugar, than whatever, doesnt matter to me).0

Do you eat carbs? A Portion of whole wheat cereal or low fat popcorn and some grapes. Cut veggies with some low cal dressing.
Wheat thins and laughing cow cheese. Cantalope, watermellon or Berries and yogurt. No sugar added fudge pop 40 cal. Scrambled Eggs with some salsa, or onions and peppers, or tomatoes and spinach. 1 frozen pancake with 1 cup of blueberries, sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake it in the oven until bubbles. Hope it helps. But now I'm hungry.0 -
