Binge Foods, Anyone?

Hi Everyone,
I'm just curious to find out if any of you have the same issues with some foods as I do.
I'm doing really well on my lifestyle changes, eat healthy and go with the "least amount of fat and calories" food. But, I've discovered there are some foods that, no matter whether they are healthy or not, I just can't keep in the house.
I found some great tasting, 40 calorie per slice, wheat bread. And some great whole wheat tortillas. Yum.
But ... I've found out (the hard way) that I simply can't keep those foods in the house. If I have them in the house I binge on them. I will buy them, thinking that, this time, it is alright. But NOOOOOO, I end up eating too much of them. Or with the bread, I can turn it into an unhealthy meal by adding too much mayonnaise. I know that ... the bread would be okay, in and of itself ... but I have to make a sandwich and have mayo on it.
So .... I simply do NOT buy tortillas or bread. I can't have them in the house.
Do any of you have an issue with certain foods? If so, what are they?

lol, yeah, I know what thats like... Most foods for me... not allowed in the shopping cart.
some silly ones.
Rice cakes... yeah, 1, 2. good... not the hole bag!!! so they aren't allowed in the cart.
Granola bars.... 1 or 2 a week... yeah right. nom nom nom....
Yup. If I enjoy it too much, or it seems like a good idea when controlled, just seems to fall apart sometimes. So, Im just not ready for those things yet. Maybe a little farther down the line.
..cheers0 -
I love potato chips, I like salty foods more than sweet. But I can eat an entire family size bag along with a container of french onion dip so these have not been in the house since I started. I am amazed about the things I have really learned about myself since starting here and tracking what I eat. I can go to someone Else's house though and have a small handful and stop. I guess cause they would probably tell me to get my own bag if I just took over theirs0

I am still struggling with a popsickle addiction . Seriously, I eat an entire box of 15 easily in one day....0

Anything sweet is off limits for me, apart from Atkins bars. And, even then, I limit myself to two a day (one before bed staves off night-time hunger pangs).
Also, I like sunflower seeds raw in the shell, or not in the shell - doesn't matter. BUT, I do keep those in the house because they help with my blood sugar.
I don't buy whole packs of stuff anymore, either - just one of what I want when I want it. That way, I won't eat a whole pack in one sitting!0 -
Oh yes Darla absolutely!
At 1st I thought I only binged on bad items but once I got that under control I found that that are some healthy items I binge on also. and it is not fruit and veggies either.
Here are some of mines:
Trail mix (I have to buy individual packs)
All nuts except almonds and walnuts
Skinny Cows (any of their products I find I will keep going back to the freezer for more, substitue is 40 cal fudge sicles and I can stop at 1 or 2)
Fiber One bars and mozzerella sticks (I find now if I put them in the freezer I am good)0 -
chips, cheesies, m and m's, chocolate bars, mc donalds salted nuts, most crackers, i haven't had those foods in almost 2 years and don't miss them because they make me nutty, can't have just one0

Chips, omg, I love salty snacks like chips. I take my husband grocery shopping with me and I tell him to just tell me no to buying them! And yogurt covered pretzels. I only eat a few of those, but the calories add up fast!0
