Not eating enough calories?

Okay, so this doesn't happen to me very often, but yesterday the end of the day came and I was barely at 1,000 calories. My daily goal is 1300ish. Should I try to consume the 300 calories before bed even if I'm not hungry? I didn't want to eat just to eat, and I knew if I was going to eat it would be junk food which would make me want MORE than the 300 calories. Just wondering what you do if you don't meet your calorie budget for the day. I realize under eating can stall weight loss. But like I said, this doesn't happen much.

unless you're only reaching 1000 for a few days in a row... not eating everything on one day is fine. you'll offset undereating by probably eating a little more another day. it's all good.
  • constant undereating can put you in starvation mode when the body stores everything it can get hence no weight loss but if the calorie intake averages out over a week as normal it should be ok for the odd occasion
