For anybody with an android phone. There's a free app called cardio trainer that's really good. It measures either walking, running or cycling. Tells you the speed you are moving and how far you've travelled, how many calories you've burned. It maps our the route you took and you can save each exercise. You can set targets for each day etc etc. And it will play your tunes while you're going! I'm not on commission (shame, because I think I've done a fair job) but thought I'd share as I really like it ...Sue

Thanks, I'm going to try it! I have a HRM, but when it's really hot it's kind of a bugger to wear. If the app is close to the HRM reading, on a hot day I could just use that.
  • Just started using it and I really LOVE it!!

I've got it too, started using it around last January. Since I found MFP, I tend to use it for recording mileage and little else, though you can use it for measuring cals taken and record food etc. It doesn't, as far as I remember, work out how much you've eaten and take off cals burned? They're all on different but linked apps which I found a bit irritating after a while. Great for measuring miles, steps, minutes etc. I still use it for that. Glad you like it Sue!
