34% of women reported that losing weight was their top resolution last January. Yet, 36% ditched their resolution by February!

HAPPY TO REPORT, I am not one of those people...are you?

I am an avid reader of Women's Health Magazine and this short blurb was speaking to ME. I thought I would copy and share, as it may be speaking to others as well:

RESOLUTION:
Weight train more often.
THE PROBLEM:
You can't tear your cardio-obsessed butt of the elliptical.
THE FIX:
Think 30 minutes of lunges and push ups can't match an hour on the stairclimber? Think again. Circuit strength training (doing exercises without resting in between) challenges your muscles more than a lollygagging cardio workout, says Jen Cohen, official trainer for CW's Shedding for the Wedding. Plus, there's a bonus after-burn effect: A 2010 study found that people who did a strength training circuit blazed an extra 100 calories per day for the next three days. The best part? The quick bursts of effort keep your heart rate up, giving you that cardio buzz you crave. Most gyms offer classes with this philosophy, but you can also find at home versions at www.Womenshealthmag.com and or www.bodyrock.com

Really I wanted to post this to remind myself to do more weight training...and YOU too!

I don't recall actually making a new year's resolution to lose weight, but if I did, I didn't blow it. I began my diet on the 6th of January and got serious about weight training in mid March. My half year's resolution is more cardio oriented: I resolve to run at least 5K out of doors on the first cool weekend we have in the fall.
  • I started mine on the 10th of Jan. 2011 and had my mine set that this time it was not a quick fix it however I have it stuck in my head to make it to my Goal weight Jan 2012 ;0) God willing of course. ...
