Greetings from Richmond, Va! I am 57 years old, married, have a daughter who is 28 (out of the nest) and am now mother to my pug, Empi, who is 6 years old. I love to read, and enjoy most anything except romance novels. I just recently bought a Kindle and am enjoying the benefit of being able to download a surplus of classics free; there are many I never read and having fun with those. I also enjoy movies and television, but would find it hard, as with the books to name favorites; just too many to chose from. My musical tastes are very eclectic ranging from Led Zeppelin to Mozart to Celtic and back to Neil Young. I enjoy being outdoors and nature photography is a hobby. I enjoy cooking, especially trying new recipes and trying to “copy-cat foods” I have had out in restaurants and loved. I am also interested in Astrology, read tarot, and enjoy anything relating to the supernatural or metaphysical.
Wrestling with my weight has been a life ling struggle...I am 5’6” and weigh 185.5 as of today; my goal is to reach 148 lbs, which is a little under the minimum for not being classified as overweight. I would like to reach goal by the end of 2011. I have benefited from both Weight Watches and South Beach in the past, however, have always had the most success with counting calories…since is the most comfortable for me, that is form of diet, along with 15-30 minutes walking each day. I’d like to look better but my primary goal is to feel better and have more energy!
I am fortunate to have family who encourage and support me in reaching my goal. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you on the boards. I have found message forums to be very helpful and supportive in the past and am looking forward to familiarizing myself with this one! I hope to be supportive as well See you on the boards!
