Hi,

I just got feedback from one of my friends that I shouldn't be expecting to loose weight as long as I did the "= Net"-philosophy. He meant that you should never subtract exercise from you diet and if he did it himself he would be in minus.

Any thoughts?

I think this sound a bit.. well, dangerous.

I think that sounds dangerous. He can't be doing his body any good. Mfp already has a deficit built in. why some people don't get that I will never understand

It does sound incredibly unhealthy. I've been eating what I 'earn' from exercise, and I'm still losing weight, as well as getting enough nutrients/vitamins and staying healthy.

Hi...I guess different tactics work for different ppl because in order for me to lose my scheduled 1lb per week, I HAVE to 'net' 1200-1390 calories...I think that is was some time near the end of last month that I upped my calorie goal to 1806(got it from caloriesperhour.com), but I make sure that I burn enough calories to have what I call my 'magic net' and I have been losing consistently ever since with the exception of water gains during the week before weigh in.

Sometimes I'm up a little at weigh in, but for the most part I usually get right back down to where I'm supposed to be and even a little more...it is a bit of a tedious cycle that I go through, but I'm sure that it is due to my 'off days' that have to be corrected, but I have no problem with it...when the scale is up, I have learned to not get discouraged because THAT'S GONNA HAPPEN ANYWAY...I'm 40, going thru menopause, and I fluctuate like CRAAAAAZY, so I don't let this bother me, I just work it out until my scale agrees with my ticker, so you have to find what works for you with some trial and error and if it doesn't work with the first trial, just try again and you WILL find a way that works...for me, it's the 'magic net'...hope that helps and good luck!!

    Thanks for the feedback!

I was accused for eating to much, Net: 1200-1400 kcal and working out too little (every day), I had to find out if I was totally off in my goals.

Good luck to you all :flowerforyou:
