I will admit that the past few days haven't been perfect, but even when I go over my calories I stay under 1800. I didn't expect to lose any weight the past 3 days but I gained 4 pounds! It takes a couple weeks to go down a few pounds and a couple days to go right back up. It just doesnt make sense because I'm still not eating enough to be gaining. I lose motivation when this happens and I still feel determined to reach my goals, but if I eat one extra thing it's all shot! Ugh I just don't understand I feel like i'm wasting my time dieting. I've been counting calories for almost a month and I'm back to the weight I started at. If i had been eating whatever I felt like, like before, I would be at the same weight. I've been sick a couple times this month and haven't been working out lately but I thought weight loss was more about diet. The dr has me on a strong anti-inflammatory, a muscle relaxer and i've just started taking Armour, could any of these be the reason i'm gaining? Sorry for the rant I just want to scream!

I'm not sure about the medicine, but I doubt you've actually gained 4 lbs. of fat. How's your sodium been? And your water intake? Usually gains like that are just water weight.

I've gone over on sodium but I also make up for it with water. maybe it's just gonna take a few days to drop back down?? I've been getting atleast 8 glasses usually more every day!

Honestly...look to your SODIUM...I swear more than calories it is SODIUM that kills us half the time.

I added it to my counts in the Diary to TRY to keep it no more than 2000 a day. otherwise I retain fluid (pounds) in a heart beat!

drinking water just broke a week long plateau for me....and getting the sodium down.

    hope that is helpful. :flowerforyou:

I agree with the previous posters - it's likely not all fat gain. I bet if you jump right back on the wagon you'll see those first few pounds drop right back off. You can do it!

I TOTALLY know the feeling. My pattern is, I lose a couple pounds, hold that for a while, gain and then lose. I'm still lower than when I started but, it does sometimes seems like I'm stuck. The trick for me is to take a deep breath, shake off the negativity, move forward and keep repeating to myself, " You weigh less than when you started." I'm cheering for you!

Seems we are in the same boat although for different reasons...I'm not on any meds so I'm not sure if yours are the culprit in this situation. For the past cpl weeks, I've had good losses at weigh in and then suddenly, I'm up 7lbs - WTF??? :noway:

I have enjoyed my usual 'eat what you want to' weekend and actually stayed UNDER my calorie goal:bigsmile: , but I have gained! I usually go over and still have a loss at weigh in but I don't know how it's gonna turn out this time(weigh in Wednesday).

I really think that I just need to have a good 'monster poo' and I'll be okay(it's happened before), but I'm gonna make sure that I watch my net carefully until then! :explode: Maybe do some research on the side effects of your meds, and if weight gain is not one of them, just try to get in more fiber and plenty of water and I'm sure that you'll be fine:happy: ...

One tip: when I get a gain, I put a little lemon juice in my water and eat a fiber one bar...makes for a good cleaning and loss too...sorry to have mentioned the pooing,:embarassed: but it is a part of life AND the journey, hope it helps!!
