Hiya just a quickie. I'm after getting a new tattoo, just a small one on my inner wrist, to symbolise something along the lines of inner strength, motivation, perseverence. Something I can look at and remember I am strong and to keep fighting (I've had a bit of a tough time lateley with work and relationships). I'm having trouble tracking anything down that fits what I want and would love it if you guys could help

Really looking forward to hearing your responses, I'm so excited for getting a new tattoo it's ridiculous xxxx

I have 4 tattoos, all have a special meaning. My first is a Winnie the Pooh holding a balloon floating in the air. In the story of Pooh, he is pretending to be a honey bee, and ends up falling on his butt in a thistle bush. It's a daily reminded to just to be me, or else be prepared to fall my on butt. The second is the chinese symbol for passion, the third the "OM" symbol in buddhist meditation, and the last is a dove of peace on my foot. And I'm thinking of a 4th and 5th...lol
    Have you narrowed down anything?

I have a few tattoo's as well. I will honestly say that if you get another, you should get something with personal meaning. Any ideas you get from others are not going to be anything that is personal to YOU. You should get something that symbolizes strength for yourself. For me it would be a cross or something similar because God gives me strength. But you may not feel the same. Not trying to be mean, just want to be honest and up front. I wish you luck and hope you find what you're looking for :flowerforyou: . Have a great Sunday!

I have five tats... need moreeee lol
I have a saying in Latin meaning "she flies with her own wings" on my foot
and a sparrow looking forward and carrying a heart on my wrist... symbolizes that I will not look back on my past and that I made it out intact etc :)
Also have a big claddagh on my my other foot- love, loyalty and friendship.
I only get ones that have a special meaning, and they usually just pop into my head.
    Do you have any ideas?

  • I want to get a lotus [my user pic] because of what it represents. If you google it you will find a better explanation but basically, they start off at the bottom of the pond and grow through the mud and all kinds of crap before emerging as a beautiful flower at the top. So it is a beautiful representation of triumph and determination and success. It also is a symbol for passion and wisdom and a few other things I can't think of right now. :)

Ask any of your local friends who have them 1st - and find out where they got them done. The most important thing (besides the actual tattoo) is the artist who will be doing it. Good tattoos aren't cheap - Remember tattoos are forever.

I would also suggest checking out some actual tattoo shops. Make sure they are clean, in a safe location w/ no Board of Health complaints. A good place will answer all your questions, if they don't want to or seem aprehensive - MOVE ON !!!

    * Finding a good connnection and that " trusting-feeling" w/ an artist is also very important.

Now for tattoos - The best place, in my opinion, where you can start looking (on-line) for ideas is: www.tattoofinder.com

    Good Luck !!

PS - I've got 2 of them so far and am getting ready for my 3rd !!!

That is an awesome idea. I:ve looked at the lotus flower before, I know they have different meaning variations dependant on colour. I'll look in to that thatnks. I bought a Dahlia plant the other day which is a gorgeous flower called happy days, I was thinking maybe that :) I'm definatley thinking a flower

I have 3 already one is a dove with small stars around it each representing a member of my family who has passed away. I originally got it in rememberance for my grandparents but it gets added to. I always take ages to pick out any tattoo because I want to love it and I want it to be as personal as possible. Thanks for all the great ideas xx

I have a tried and tested Tattoo artist i go to every time. I totally agree though the quality of the artist is as important as the art x
