Hi, I have been using resistance bands for my strength training. How would I log them? I really don't even know the names of the exercises I am even doing. 1. I just wrap the band around my back and push it forward, 2. then I hold it above my head shoulder width apart, and pull down, 3. then the last one I do it where I hook the band around my foot and pull back.

Any clues?

For resistance bands I usually just log the exercise it best fits with, but not write anything for the amount of weight.

The first one you mention sounds like a chest press to me, and the second sounds like a lat pull down. Not sure about that last one. I typically do bicep curls with my foot on the resistance band, but it sounds like you may be doing something for your back? Some modified form of a row maybe?

I hope this helps. Resistance bands are fantastic and sometimes make me even more sore than a day of weight lifting!

I believe a workout DVD called "The L.A. Workout" is geared for resistance bands. See if you can find a copy. Maybe from Netflix? Or inter-library loan? If you're committed to the bands, maybe make sure it's a band video and consider buying it from half.com or something.

Do something you enjoy doing. That's the key. I do the treadmill while watching movies and Netflix-on-demand. I'm quite proud of my setup. I've even got my computer hooked up to my TV and I watch Stumblevideo channels sometimes.

Very cool. I didn't know about videos for the bands. I actually made my own bands from a product at work. It's called an Esmark. We use it in Surgery to squeeze all the blood out of a limb before surgery. Sometimes we don't use them and they go to waste, so I take it home and cut off how ever much length I want. This way the kids can have one and I'm not purchasing them for the kids to play with.
