......................my gym closes at 5pm on a Sunday, and its peeing it down outside, so I have just been for a walk around the house, touching every wall in each room, to the tune of an online countdown of 30 mins!

Ha Ha! I can picture that because I walk a circle from the living room, through the dining room, through the kitchen and back to the living room. The music is the key ingredient to moving.

lol i feel your pain. We don't have a treadmill and if I wasn't feeling a workout DVD that day while my son would nap I would run laps inside my house. Just stay motivated, pump that music up, and try to find some workout DVDs you like, or check out some websites with free videos of routines and moves like Self.com

This morning my husband & I left our house at 9:41am and got back 10:32am. I have started using the stopwatch on my phone for when I jog.We jogged 16 minutes and walked 26 minutes. I haven't been to the gym since sometime last year. And I am walking/jogging outside all the time. When I'm at work, I walk/jog on my 10 minute break. At home I work out once a day (starting to do it twice on weekends) with Jenny McCarthy on her Wii Your Shape game.

Good luck & keep it up!!!

If my hubby is home I take the dog out rain or shine. (Wouldn't inflict this weather on the kids!!) It's only water after all but it is miserable out there today :-(

when i had left home temporarily my parents bought a stationary bike thing. i was told prompltly when i returned that i was too heavy to go on it.

turns out i can go on there fine, i have to lower the seat as i'm about half a foot shorter then everyone else int he family but i go on that bike now. i'm pretty new to excersie since i left school so i'm building myself up at the moment and want to be able to go on it for a full hour but i can only really cope with ten minutes at the moment >__<

depending what you feel up to, there is this thing called Tabata training. Its pretty intense but requires only a clock. You pick an exercise such as squats, crunches, mountain climbers, pushups and do as many as you can in 20 seconds. Stop for 10 seconds and repeat until you have completed 8 times. It sounds pretty easy but trust me, i did this with crunches 5 days ago and my abs are still really sore! You could do these circuits with each of the exercises and get a killer workout!

Maybe see if you have one of these near you - the gym group gyms? Mine is Open 24 hrs 7 days week. Means i shouldn't have an excuse not to go, but sometimes i'll sneak on a dvd instead or go for a walk round the block, even skipping and jumping jacks in the garden will do

There are loads of websites that do free fitness videos online - I don't go to the gym at all, I do these & DVD's. www.thinqfitness.com have plenty of free videos.

Walking videos are great. Try renting one from Netflix or ExeciseTV.com has a couple instant ones. You can go at your own pace (faster or slower). These are wonderful for rainy days.

If you have a Wii - "Walk it Out" gets terrific reviews (I want a Wii real bad!)
  • I got a second gym membership plus an outdoor lap pool membership. Basically, I removed all the good excuses :)
  • You don't need a gym to work out. Do body weight exercises and perfect your form.

Yeah - I don't belong to a gym - today I walked outside, 2.25 miles in 95-degree heat. Otherwise, I do exercise DVD's. It's easy to work out at home. In fact, I far prefer it!
