Well first day off from training today since starting back into it. Out of nowhere i hit the wall, serious cravings for chocolate, which is very strange as i dont normally have a sweet tooth.
Anyhow i decided to have 4 chocolate biscuits and now im back on course. Feeling guilty but back on course.
Hows everyone else getting on?

I keep dark chocolate on hand for when I'm having a craving. I eat one peice and because its so rich it satisfies the craving plus it has lots of antioxidants in it0

Today is my rest day as well, and I definitely just had a snickers bar! It's only 3:45, and I'm down to 40 calories left for the day...today may not be much of a rest day after all, I may need to get my butt on the elliptical to make up for my horrible eating! haha
I hope you have better luck for the rest of the day!0 -
Semi-sweet or dark chocolate is a great idea. I like dark cocoa nibs from Trader Joes, too. I also like Quaker chocolate rice cakes... that would be more of a cookie craving helper.
...A biscut is a cookie, right? Forgive me for being a dolt American...0 -
Funny -- the cravings tend to hit me on a day when I don't exercise. On the days that I do and have calories to spare -- I'm not hungry.
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has this issue.
Were the biscuits good?0 -

Totally agree! It"s rather frustrating. I'm trying to zig-zag calories, so I use rest days as my "high" calorie day. Thar's when I add 250-500 calories to my net goal.0 -
Yeah, suzooz, I'm wih you. I'm having a day where I just want stuff. When I have all those calories left over...not hungry. Sigh. Why is that?0

Same with me. When I am craving chocolate, I will have Chocolate PB2. A google search will give you a source. :-)0

YES!! This is totally me. Plus I haven't had a big whoppin' meal all week. If you haven't gone out to eat or had a meal that left you feeling FULL in a long time, do you crave that fullness? Not feeling sick, but truly satisfied. Haven't had that much this past week or so. I've got the serious munchkins. I taught Pump. and walked an hour with the doggie..but I only have 500 calories or so left for the day and we haven't had dinner yet. There is a bag of fresh pretzel rolls from Wegman's just screaming my name! Ahhh!!0

Nature Valley makes a great crunchy granola bar called Oats & Dark Chocolate. Delicious. Two bars in a package, but I usually only eat one, 95 calories!0

When I have a chocolate craving i have sugar free chocolate pudding or sugar free fudgesicles.0

I found a great way to satisfy that craving without sacrificing too many calories. I take 3-5 TBS of cocoa powder(Hershey's Special Dark!) and mix it with sugar(stevia for me) and then add warm or hot water to it until it blends together. It makes amazing dip for fruit or a spread for whatever. Low cal(30-100 depending on amount of cocoa/sweetener) and it tastes so yummy! ^_^ I think warm milk, dairy or non, would work...if you want a richer taste.0

I have the same problem on rest days, especially when I'm sitting around watching TV. For me, I think the cravings are more from boredom so I find if I distract myself and get out of the house, then the cravings usually subside. If that doesn't work, then I'll finally give in but try my best to practice portion control.0

Try being a female (without trying to sound all moany and womanly). Cravings last for a whole bloody week!0

I get hungry on rest days too. It's much easier to just exercise more and eat more.
Your chocolate craving reminds me. For some strange reason, I started liking peanut butter some time after I started my weight loss regimen. I don't eat it as much as most other people seem to, but I'm still enjoying what little bit I eat of it, which is a huge difference. I hadn't even gone near peanut butter in 10+ years!0
