Ok so when I log my exercise then my calorie intake caluculator tells me I can eat those calories? This doesn't make sence to me.....can someone explain? thanks!

MFP already figures in your calorie deficit. Check out this thread - it explains it really well.

MFP sets your daily calorie goals at a deficit from the beginning. If you exercise you are creating an even larger calorie deficit. Thus, you can eat your exercise calories back and still be under your original calorie goals.0

Your calculator, by default, only figures in the calories your body is likely to burn through normal activity (minus whatever you are trying to lose). If you just diet, you will still lose that weight, but won't necessarily "get in shape". When you exercise, you are still burning extra calories, but in order to stay with that 500 calorie deficit rather than 700, or 1000, or whatever it may be including your exercise, you will need to eat what you burned.0
