New to the program

Hello everyone,
Trying to get aquianted with the site and the program. So far so good, tracking all my intake and also my daily exercise. Joined about 5 or 6 days ago and I am very excited to see results. Recent hospitalization for an extended period of time and I gained 25 pounds, ugh!!! I'm determined to look good and most importantly FEEL good. Looking for some advise for when you go over you daily protein intake or carb intake...what can I do for this? I know if I go over my calories, I can do some excersise to balance it out, any thoughts or suggestions?
