Hi I'm Vickie and I joined a few weeks ago. I was doing pretty well but lately I haven't been tracking my food and exercise like I should. I did move the treadmill into the house and I've actually been using . I need some friends to keep me motivated on my weight lost journey.

    You can friend me!

Also, here's words of advice/encouragement/motivation that helped me: This isn't about motivation. Sure, sometimes motivation and inspiration is nice. But, you have to do this even when you aren't motivated. You have to do it because it's necessary, because there's an end goal, and because this is the way to reach success. You have to have DEDICATION and DISCIPLINE, more so than motivation. You have to be dedicated and disciplined to this enough to do it even when you're feeling sad/down/depressed/unmotivated. You won't always be in the place/mood to be motivated and in those times, you have to do it based on pure discipline and commitment.

And, that is hard. I mean, I can do lots of things when I receive motivational words or inspiration from others. But, on just an ordinary day when I feel crappy? The discipline has to kick in. And, I've realized that in my life, even though there are many, many accomplishments I've made (a doctoral level degree, am a lawyer, etc) , I am NOT a very disciplined person when it comes to so many areas of self-care. I've never been able to stick to a diet, never been able to stick to fitness, never been able to stick to things I even really love.

So, I will provide you motivation if you are my friend .... but, I'll also try to help you remember that now is the time to find discipline and dedication :)

Feel free to add me as a friend!

When I started, I didn't have any friends on here. Now that I do have some, I've found it certainly helps!

I know that I am often motivated when I lose a little weight. Once I am feeling a little bit lighter, I know my counting calories is working and I am more likely to stay on my diet. It's hard to be hungry and feel heavy! I fell off the wagon big time last weekend but now that I started logging again this week, I am down almost a pound and am feeling very motivated because of it. It's also nice to have rewards. Like, once you lose so many pounds, you get a new piece of clothing or a massage.

    Best of luck!
