I really like the Kashi cereals that have more protein in them. With all the whole grains and fiber, I think it has healthier carbs.

Kashi cereals have 20 net carbs on average. That's high if you are doing a low carb thing.

I get confused with Atkins vs SBD - there doesn't seem to be an exact amount but the SBD allows you much higher "good" carbs where Atkins just allows almost none to start.

It would be incorrect to say someone couldn't have the Kashi Go Lean on a low-carb diet - it depends which diet they are on. The SBD allows all sorts of legumes in Phase 1 - those have fairly high carb counts but they are considered "good" carbs. From what I can tell of the Kashi cereal the fiber is high enough that it would be considered acceptable on the SBD.

Sometimes I feel like I need to study Algebra again with all of this :)

Thanks for these ideas. I'm looking forward to trying these. Is Flax meal hard to find?
