I'm down about 57 lbs. starting in Jan '11. Lately my ears have been ringing constantly. I was doing some research and I read that extreme dieting may cause this. Anyone else have the same problem? If so what should I do? Do I need to see my doctor?

What kind of extreme dieting have you been doing to cause tinnitus??!? YES go see your doctor ASAP. If you have been doing water activities an infection could be the cause. Also if you grind your teeth tinnitus is a sign of pretty bad TMJ Disorder. This could also greatly effect your workout if its throwing off your balance as tinnitus typically can0

What a scary thought. I wish I could be more helpful about the Tinnitis itself. My hearing is getting worse by the day. I wear hearing aids, but they don't seem to be compensating. I think I am going to get re-evaluated after reading your post. I use a night guard, a C-PAP, and ear plugs every night. I have lost eight pounds, but am going so slowly I don't think it will affect my ears.
Good post. I never thought about this before you brought it up.0
