Going out for sushi with a friend at lunch and I want to know ahead of time what I should order. I think that if I just order sashimi I should be safe. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ugh, I always struggle with this because there's really no way to tell the exact calories of a sushi roll at a given restaurant. What I do is remember to use common sense. For example, if you get a miso soup, order of edamame, and a veggie roll (what i usually get) you're eating healthy and there's nothing high-calorie involved, so I take my best estimate. Just remember to stay away from rolls with "crunch", spicy sauce, mayo, cream cheese, etc. The healthiest rolls seem to be California, Veggie, Alaska (salmon & avocado)0

Miso soup, sashimi, nigiri, low-sodium soy sauce, green tea, edamame, wakame salad, and other things without creamy sauces, mayo, cheese, or fried ingredients will all be fine!0

Nothing wrong with any kind of sushi. Are you on a low carb? If so, sashimi is about your only route.0
