My husband recently bought me Zumba for xbox kinect because I've really wanted to do a Zumba class but wasn't sure what to expect or if I could even do it ( I have two left feet and even aerobics make me fall all over myself, lol). I was wondering, is the game anything like a real Zumba class? Has anyone here done both? I'd love to hear what you all think about it for a work-out as well. It looks fun but I haven't tried it yet. I couldn't figure out how to use the xbox this morning so I am going to wait until tonight so my husband can show me how to work this thing again. lol

I got Zumba for the WII, and im gonna admit, it is a workout, it really makes you sweat.
Ive been doing it for a week now and ive lost 1.4 pounds.
The kinect one looks better then the wii one.
All you have to do, is say XBOX ON in front of the kinect and it should come on, then put the disk in the disk tray, close it and says XBOX PLAY and it should be done0 -

My roommate and I tried Zumba, only one song. We were at it for 15 minutes before we had to stop, it gets really exhausting really fast. I think it's a good exercise routine. I'd prefer Kinect because it critiques you as you go and that makes things a lot more tricky (hard/intense)0

zumba is fun and a great work out, i have seen the game and can say its a nice idea and it works mostly but its nothing like the real thing but is a great and cheaper alternative, so unless you already have a gym membership where its offered the game is alot cheaper...but they are both great workouts as long as you do it to the best of your ability without gettin hurt,
as far as you being able to do it? I know you are more than capable and you'll never know till you try!
nothing to lose in trying it! (cept maybe a few pounds) :P0 -
I have it on the Wii and agree that it is definitely a workout! I have two left feet also and just glad that I did it at home and not in the gym. I think that once i've learnt the steps from the game i'll be ready to try it out in the gym but that could take a long time! I was disappointed with the graphics on the Wii version though - it seemed clunky. Anyone else notice that?0

I do both. Have the game for the Kinect and also go to a class and also have the DVD's so does that count as three?
I feel that by doing the Game and DVD's it makes it easier in the class, but there is an atmosphere in the class that you dont get at home but it depends, I really like doing things at home, but that's just my style, and I've saved myself a small fortune in diesel at the moment which is more what I'm thinking of.0 -
I got your question earlier. It probably works different people. I would say that you should do the tape at home when your not able to make it to the gym, because it will make you bored easily! Your always in the house (not literally), so the difference of environment will help push you to do more than what you would at home. I love taking Zumba at the gym. At first I was scared of strangers, but at the same time most likely EVERYONE IS IN THERE FOR THE SAME REASON. Even if you have two left feet its not a competition, so get out there and do it!!! Its fun, and sometimes funny!! It gets you going though, and when your done your going to want to do more!!!
I would suggest going to the class! To get you out more! To get out of your comfort zone. Just because you have two left feet in the class it will encourage you to do more. There are some girls in the class that can't dance, but they still keep it moving to they best!!0 -
I've tried Zumba at my gym, but not video game versions. I didn't really like it because like you, i have two left feet...and no rhythm what so ever. My friend and I went and we spent the entire time laughing at our lack of coordination, but the real ice breaker for me was watching the girl in front of me, with her perfectly scoffed hair, perfect makeup and perfect outfit shake her perfectly shaped *kitten*.
I wonder...if I could shake my booty like that, would I be perfect too? Hahaha!0
