Hi - totally not part of fitness - but hoping someone from Oregon can point me in the right direction. I am going to a Zumba training class in Tigard Oregon in late July - need to get a hotel for 2 nights without breaking the bank - location needs to be close to Tigard (within taxi distance)

Needs to be in a "safe" for cars part of town - i'm looking for something more than a Motel 6 but not a Hilton. LOL

Any ideas or recommendations?

Depends on where in tigard you are going to be. Do you happen to know the location of the seminar. I can defiantely give you some options.

They are pretty close to Hwy 217 so freeways on that within Tigard are going to be your best bet.

Here are some within a few miles
    1 freeway exit
    Phoenix Inn Tigard
9575 Sw Locust St, Tigard, OR, 97223

    2 freeway exits
    Embassy Suites Hotel-Portland Washington Square
9000 SW Washington Square Rd, Tigard, OR, 97223

    Courtyard by Marriott Portland Beaverton
8500 Sw Nimbus Ave, Beaverton, OR, 97008

i've been toying with the Phoenix Inn - is it nice? Pictures only do so much for hotels. LOL My boyfriend is going with me and will probably just hang out there while I'm in my all day training (hence the I don't want a motel 6...)

What is your take on the Homestead Suites? The price is right.... but....

From what I have experianced of Phoenix inns they are nicer than a Super 8 but not super nice. If your boyfriend is coming with you this would be a good location because there is a mall and all kinds of restuarants around there within a decent walk so it would give him something to do other than just hang out in the room. There is a Barnes and Noble right across the street from the hotel.

There is a Shiloh Inn just a couple blocks away. Approx. $65 a night.

I've stayed at the Embasy Suites in Washington Square. Pretty nice.
