Fat intake

I've noticed that I've been eating a lot of the healthy fats lately and that tends to put me over as far as fat goes.

I read an article and I'm wondering if this sounds logical or not. According to this, I should be eating 40 grams of fat (based off of 1,200 calories) Currently I'm eating between 25 and 27 grams.

Can someone clear this up for me?

fat should be between 20 and 30% of your total calories, so that would be between 27 (1200*.2/9) and 40 (1200*.3/9) grams of fat, more on days you workout.

I've decreased my carbs (except for fruit, veggies, brown rice and 2 slice of rye bread every day) and increased my protein and fat intake (i am currently not eating any processed foods and all of my fats come from chicken, fish, almonds, peanuts and almond butter)... i have lost weight and inches for the week i've been doing this. I currently take in about 50grams of fat but it is ALL good fat.

I eat about 40% fat, 40% protein, and 20% carbs and experience about ½ to 1 lb of fat loss per week. I also don’t subscribe to the idea that saturated fats are bad for you and am typically always over on my sat fat.
