I have been trying to work out a lot to get rid of all this weight but when I feel full I feel like I need to go work out again coz I feel gross! I went on a power walk this morning after breakfast, after lunch my son and I went on a 40 min walk coz I felt gross after eating a lg salad, and after dinner we went on another walk again coz I felt gross. Now Im sitting here thinking, I could be working out right now instead of watching tv.....is this normal? Who knows!.............

Honestly? It sounds to me like you may be developing an unhealthy attitude about food. This can be a serious problem because it can lead to severe eating disorders.

I don't think that's a totally healthy mindset. I'm a recovered exercise bulimic - and what you've described is where my eating disorder sort of began. I'm not trying to say you have a problem, too - it's just where it started for me. You shouldn't feel the need to exercise away the meals you eat. If you continue to feel this way, it might not hurt to talk to a nutritionist.

Don't think like that. You should have ONE hard workout in one day and the rest of the day you should be eating foods that make you feel good. A salad is nothing to worry about unless it was doused in bacon and full-fat ranch dressing. Don't let working out multiple times a day become a habit because that's really doing a number on your muscles when you're not giving them a chance to recover. If you're feeling THAT gross, chances are you had something pretty high in fat. I am trying this new way of eating which is trying to limit useless carbs as much as possible and I fuel up on lots of proteins, veggies and fruits. Foods like this don't make you feel gross after eating. Also, drink a lot of water. When I eat something that I know is not the best for me, I drink a lot water the rest of the day to flush out the sodium which makes me feel better the next morning. Good luck!

^^^I completely agree with this statement. High fat foods, especially highly processed or fast foods make me so nauseous - beyond gross, actually.

Thank you all for your suggestions! Maybe I do need to make better choices with my foods. I had homemade tacos for dinner and i guess even a little of it is not a very good decision. Maybe next time I make tacos for my family I can cook myself a chicken quesadilla instead! Thank you all! I think Im just having an off week!

We all go through it, don't be too hard on yourself. It's all about taking more steps forward then you do backwards. :)
  • No, this is not normal. It sounds like you have an unhealthy way of looking at food, as well as some unhealthy purging habits. You may want to seek out a therapist who can help you figure out why you're doing this and how to get better. Good luck!

Ditto this! Sounds like you need to chill out a bit. Food is not the enemy, bad foods or too much food are. A big salad is your friend, not something to be feared.

I know exactly how you feel, I am the same way yet I have to agree with the majority that it is probably a road to exercise bulimia... I used to do the exact thing you described (jumping to work out right after a meal or if I can't work out I kind of force myself to fidget or move around). I mean honestly I still kind of do it but I'm really trying to relax and keep in mind that this isn't healthy.
If your afraid that anything you eat will stick to you and ruin any prior workouts you did earlier don't be. As long as you keep to your target calories you'll be fine. And!! don;t forget that not eating a decent amount of food will actually cause you to slow your metabolism!
