Anyone have any encouragement so i don't get upset and give up! Here the background on myself..My youngest child is going to be 2 in December. Had the first when I was 21, now i'm 26. My pre prego weight was 107-110 depending on fluctuation...NOW, i'm 138-140 fluctuating...and that's after my 8 lb loss. the majority of the weight is on my belly. So shouldn't I be seeing a difference there?????:grumble: :frown:

There's an old wives tale that says "oldest fat is the last to go". And, also, it depends on what your eating and if you're losing from else where.

Have you been measuring? Do you imbide in a glass or two of wine or maybe beer?

That old wives tale is not an old wives tale.

You gain weight first in your greater and lesser omentum (behind the intestines, liver, pancreas). This is why fat sneaks up on us, because while you're gaining, you really don't notice it that much, til it's gathering under your belly skin, ON TOP of your muscle. From there, it works it's way out (up toward the chest, and down toward the butt and thighs). So yes, it's the last to go.

    Give it time to work.

Yay!!! I didn't want Banks or song to come on here and be like "Fab, shut your pie hole!!"
  • This is me too. I have had inches come off all over but the belly, hips & thighs are the ones that are being the most stubborn. I love that I have think knees, ankles, & wrists again! Keep working at it--patience!

Me too. I'm actually too skinny from the knees down, which means I'm due for some strength training at some point, but I sure do still have a small handful of belly fat, which is only made worse by the excess skin there from three babies over time.

Also, Bridget, please remember YOURE STILL YOUNG!!!! Young skin tends to have more elasticity.

Also, Keep track of it via a tape measure. Take your measurements and WRITE THEM DOWN, so that when there's a change, you'll notice.

After my first child( when I was 20), it took 8 years, but I got my flat-ish belly back. After child number 2 and 3, not so lucky.
  • Thanks for the encouragement!

I don't drink except maybe twice a year...I have been sticking to 1200 calories a day of healthy foods such as veggies, fruits & high protien low fat meals (chicken)...

There is also an quote I have seen posted many times that I use to keep me motivated... "You didn't put the weight and inches on overnight, so they won't come off over night" Not trying to sound rude, just what keeps me motivated. Just keep with it results will come.
