    Hi,
Instead of PB&J, why not pack some fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) fruit, almonds, or something along those lines? Easy to eat on a drive, and you can eat more of the veggies and fruit for the same calorie intake as a PB&J.

I would recommend hitting a Trader Joe's if there is one near you. They have a lot of healthy/low cal options that are pre-packaged and great for long drives. I'm about to take a week long road trip and have been stocking up there. Also, if it's just a day's drive. Try cooking some meals the day before and popping them in some tupperware.

    Great Grab-n-Go Ideas:
    Fresh Fruit
    Mini Applesauce
    Mini Fruit Cups and Bowls
    Squeeze Yogurt
    Popcorn
    String Cheese / Cheese Sticks
    Pretzels
    Carrots with Dip
    Graham or Whole Grain Crackers
    Make Your Own Trail Mix
Combine mixed nuts, raisins or dried apricots, mini pretzels, sunflower seeds, breakfast cereal (such as Chex), and a few chocolate chips

I agree with the above post. Veggies and Fruits, easy to eat easy to store. We did that on our way out to Denver via Ohio.

Cali is a mecca of organic grocery stores :) Especially in the bay area.

I recommend packing nuts, a sandwich or salad. Invest in a mini-cooler and ice packs if you don't have one.
