How many times a week should I strength train?

I now want to start focusing on toning everything up. I pretty much only do cardio now. I'm trying to figure out my new exercise plan for the next part of my weight loss. How many days a week should I strength train? Can I also have some strength training exercise suggestions that can be done at home? All I have is handweights. Thanks so much!

2 to 5 days per week. Just don't work the same muscle group within 48 hours of the last time you worked it.0

womenshealthmag.com has some great workout ideas under their fitness tab. I would recommend doing exercises that incorporate more than one body part at a time as you get started. For example, doing squats and shoulder raises. This reduces the amount of time you need to work out and you can fit in three days per week.0
