So I was at this ceremony yesterday. And the lady went up to the stage to be with her husband (which in a couple of years will be me) and I realized she had the grace of an ox. My first thought, was wtf am i thinking thats my friend....sigh....lol But then I thought will i be that non graceful when I do that. I dont want that.. Do i have to be a hundred pounds smaller to be graceful? Can I be big and graceful? Where does one learn to be graceful? Are there really princess lessons I can take to learn grace? sigh... anybody have the answer?

Take a ballet class! It's great practice for feeling light, elegant and graceful!0

Or ballroom dancing classes
Losing weight won't hurt either.0 -
Graceful: displaying grace in form or action : pleasing or attractive in line, proportion, or movement.
You don't have to be thin to be graceful.0 -
Do you like yoga? (I personally hate it) - I hear it's great for balance and toning. I swapped Plyometrics for Yoga in my P90X routine - but got just as much (if not more) benefit from it.

I believe grace has a lot to do with a person's core strength. The stronger I get the more I feel like I can control my body, my stance, my walk, and my posture. Over the years of being heavy I also mastered the ability to walk quietly and that makes a big difference. A heavy person often makes things shake when they walk past them and it is so incredibly embarrassing, especially in an old house. You might feel like you're shaking the whole dang house. So to avoid the embarrassment, I practiced walking very softly. Walking softly is a great start to gracefulness.0

IMHO there is nothing more graceful than a strong, fit woman. Stick with your diet, get plenty of exercise and add in some resistant training. Muscle tone and being lean will go a long ways to helping you be graceful. And anything that requires coordination, dancing, tai chi, gymnastics, just about any kind of sports, roller skating, skiing (water or snow). I’m always amazed at how easy it is to tell an athletic person from one that is not. Take any two women both of the same height and weight and the athlete will be obvious by the way they move and carry themselves. You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete, just being a better athlete than you are now will help a lot.0
