Welcome to Week #6. My how time flies when you’re having fun! OK, maybe it hasn’t always been fun, but it has been interesting for sure. It’s hard to believe that next week is the last week of our challenge. Has anyone given any thought to what you will do after this challenge is over? Anyone planning on taking the ball and running with it by coordinating another challenge? While I don’t have the time right now to coordinate a challenge, I for one will be looking around for other challenges that might be going on. If anyone is interested, please see my ticker for another ongoing challenge that is still accepting members. How will you continue to be motivated to continue on your journey? For those of you who may be close to or at your goal weight, what motivation do you plan to use to keep yourself from reverting to old habits? It’s not too early to start planning, even if you aren’t at your goal weight. After all, this is about a change in lifestyle, not just a diet.
This week had a theme. The theme was NO CHANGE. I would say most people had no weight loss. I guess that’s better than a gain, but still frustrating for sure. Since this is our last week, and there were so many NO CHANGES, it’s setting up to be a week of big changes and a potential photo finish, so it’s a great opportunity to put in maximum effort and finish up strong with a big loss. I’m in, with my 0.4 pound weight loss. We're missing a couple of check-ins, and since there's only 1 week left, I'm going to put them at No Change. Next week's weigh in will have the final results. Thank you again to the team leaders and to everyone for keeping up with this. I know it's hard, but I honestly believe that it helps you to stay focused, especially when you have the support of teammates. Please don't get discouraged if you aren't quite where you want to be. This is a journey after all, and will have many ups and some downs. There are many NSV (Non Scale Victories) that we can celebrate daily. Some of these include recognizing your need to do healthier things and making the decision to get healthier! Changes in the way your clothes fit is another victory. Starting an exercise program is yet another NSV. Anything you do that is doing your best to reach a healthy goal is an NSV! Please reach out and ask for help if you are stuck and need advice. Above all, keep up the good work and don’t stop moving!
This week's challenge: Take a 30 minute walk either in the morning before work or during lunch.
Superstars for Week 6 are:
Team Pink - LJc3 – 0.75% (1.40 pounds Lost WHOO HOO)
Team Purple - ENtire team had 0% weight loss (No weight gain is good!)
Team Orange – fab50G - 1.60% - (2.60 pounds Lost - WHOO HOO)
FANTASTIC JOB!
This Weeks’ Results:
Same general format remains. 1st number is the starting weight, second is week 6 wt, third is the amount lost for the week, 4th is the percentage lost for the week, 5th is your total lost since we started, and 6th is the total percentage lost since we started, 7th is goal weight by June 20, and 8th is left to reach goal weight. Those I have no goal weight for, I simply put (NONE) and (N/A). Since there were so many numbers, I did go ahead and add numbers even for those with no loss, so you don't get lost with the numbers. Remember, even if you didn't lose, don't panic. It's a new day and week! Please let me know if I goofed on the numbers! You won't hurt my feelings, I promise. Also, if you have any questions or suggestions on a better way to display this, please let me know.

Thanks Sue for all your hard work and encouragement....I'll look for the next challenge. I'm not happy that I couldn't meet my goal...but I had no way to predict this plateau. So I continue on!!! Thanks again!

Tammy, those plateaus can be rough. I was less than happy with my 0.4 pound weight loss this week, especially since I did more exercise and have been working on some strengthening. Stay the course, and try to change something up, maybe even increase your calories by 100 for a week or two to see what happens. Remember, our victories aren't just on the scale. They are also in the way we feel physically and emotionally. Plow through it and it will be ok.0
