I'm coming down with a cold or sinus infection, one or the other, and I'm wondering should I do my water aerobics in the morning, or not? I hate to miss, I'm really enjoying it, but hate to make this worse. Oh, and I was wetting my hair down this morning, and forgot, yes forgot to plug my nose, and got a nose full of pool water! I would really like to go, they don't offer the class on Saturday or Sunday. And my knees and hips are too bad to do anything else.

If you're coming down with something, the last thing you want to do is be in a pool... the cold could turn into a bacterial infection and they are seriously SUPER painful. Trust me! I've had them twice and it's miserable. Also, not really going to be good for your cold if you're in COLD water. Try going for a walk!

I am dealing with the same thing. I have a sinus infection and strep throat. i worked out last night and it made me feel worse. On antibiotics now and thinking I need to go ahead and bite the bullet tonight. I hate not working out but don't want to push my body too far!! How long is your water aerobics class? Do you have a fever?

Yes! Don't let this slow you down, or God forbid, stop you! Let us know what you did.

I'm a runner. If I don't take care of my body, it won't take care of me. I have a cold. The last couple of days I have felt very run down because I am sick. So, the last couple of days, I took off. I felt a little better today, with more energy, so I went for a short, comfortable run Listen to your body. One day or two is not bad for you as long as you work out again when you're feeling better. When you're run down, your body is telling you something.

Tomorrow is only a 45 minute class, and its an indoor heated pool, so the water is never cold. They keep it at 80 degrees. The good news, is that my Dr wife is also in the class, and she has been reporting my progress to him.;-)

Listen to your body. Its generally advised that those suffering from colds/flu that is making breathing difficult, or that is accompanied with a fever should refrain from exercise.

Well, everybody, I went ahead and went to the class. I'm glad that I did, it felt great! Never thought I'd say that about any form of exercise! Now to take care of the mom, and then off to my home to bed. Good night.
