For me personally it would be working out doing something moving my body. If I eat well and don't exsercise I don't lose the weight I have to do both they just go hand in hand for me! I'm not sure if that's answering your question but for me that's essential!

LOL - that's so funny - I asked pretty much the same thing earlier today!
Here's the link - you might as well start with these and see if you get lots of the same answers:

"Commitment" and a true desire to want to eat healthier...exercise is great, but not as beneficial if you're not tweaking your diet. One of the beauty’s about MFP is that you can log "ALL" that you eat, and in doing that you can see how many calories/fat/sodium etc you're actually taking in daily. You can also track you exercise, so you can see just how active you really are...you have a wonderful support team on MFP...and many great suggestions...

You have to know that you can do this and change will take time, don't get discouraged and know that not every week is going to be a "great" week, but never give up and you will see a new you...Healthier and LOOKING GREAT!

    Hope this helps.

    patience, patience and more patience.

a meal & exercise plan that works for ME and MY body.

tweaking things when what you're doing isn't working.

my kitchen scale. my bathroom scale. measuring tape.

eating foods I enjoy and that work with my body not against it.

logging my food intake everyday here at MFP.

    perseverance.
I know many people from the blogging world who tried and tried for 3 years to get this right and finally their plans clicked and they are now successfully on their way to goal. Many have lost over 100 pounds.
This is what most will tell you ... NEVER GIVE UP!

    and more patience.

Planning ahead! If I know I'm going to that movie that comes out on Friday I plan my breakfast and lunch accordingly so that I can "afford" that small bag of popcorn with zero guilt.

    Also...
    A decent scale.
Healthy food in the house at all times for snacking.
Healthy recipes for foods that I like to eat
MFP on my iPhone so I can make informed choices at the spur of the moment if I decide to eat out
4 or 5 water bottles and travel mugs so that I always have water with me. Always.
